Our area features several outdoor attractions providing multiple activities for this summer’s adventures. Our community parks are great for getting outside and enjoying the day. There are several parks in Princeton that have plenty to offer.
Princeton City Park
The city park is located on Emory Ave. in Princeton. This park offers several amenities such as a playground, picnic tables, a disk golf course, walking trails, and even a swimming pool. The park is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
The disk golf course opened last year and there are eighteen different holes throughout the park. Each hole has a sign showing where to throw the disk from and where the hole is located.
Also opened last year, a two mike hiking trail goes through the woods of the park. This trail is a great opportunity for the entire family to get outside and enjoy this summer.
Inside the park is also an Olympic sized swimming pool. The pool opened on June 6th this year and is open seven days a week from 12pm to 6pm with an admission fee of $5. The pool offers a water slide and several dates for night swims. More information can be found on the pool’s Facebook page.
Glenwood Park is located off Route 52 in Glenwood between Princeton and Bluewell. This large area provides a number of outdoor activities.
Like Princeton City Park, Glenwood also offers a disk golf course. This eighteen-hole course was developed in 2014 and is currently rated 3.81 out of 5 on DGCourseReview.
Lake Access and Paddle Boating
Unique to Glenwood Park is the 55-acre lake used for everything from fishing to paddle boating. Boats without motors are allowed in the lake along with the option to rent paddle boats hourly. Fish passes and paddle boats rentals can be obtained from the Clubhouse at the entrance to the park.
Additionally, the park has an 18-hole put-put course by the lake at the entrance of the park. Putters can also be obtained from the clubhouse.
There are several trails around the park. A popular trail is the Lake Trail that runs around the perimeter of the lake. This trail is not paved, but relatively flat and clear. There are also paved paths throughout the park for walking or riding bikes.
